Welcome
I started this site in 2020 to better understand our sometimes chaotic healthcare system. I wrote back then: “Our healthcare system needs a good shaking up. Many things, we get right. Many things can be and should be overhauled.”
Five years later, that hasn’t changed.
Patients wait and that waiting has a personal and economic cost. Hospitals and clinics struggle to innovate under financial deficits. Data and performance metrics dictate where funding flows, but we don’t always measure what matters. Shortages of doctors, nurses and allied health means the frontline is stretched thin. Burnout has grown to unprecedented proportions, leading to absenteeism, illness and suicide.
What has changed is me. I still see the problems in our healthcare system. But now, I look for solutions, and once found, I implement them.
I have also broadened my perspective. There is more to life.
I am not just a doctor.
I’m a mom.
I’m a writer.
So while I will still explore health, health policy and the healthcare system, occasionally, I’ll write about the rest of my life. Everything on here is my opinion — but I love hearing from others. Drop me a line and let me know what you think.
who i am. what i do.
A bit about me, my work and how to get in touch.
what i said.
Moments in the spotlight.
